Diet plan: How to eat gluten-free

A gluten-free diet excludes the protein gluten. Gluten is found in lots of common foods but mostly in grains such as wheat, barley and rye .

Gluten causes inflammation in the small intestines of people with celiac disease, which can be very painful. Eating a gluten-free diet helps people with celiac disease control their symptoms and prevent complications.  In the beginning a gluten-free diet may be very frustrating. Eating gluen free will require patience and may be a little time-consuming. Not all foods are labeled gluten-free, so there will be a lot of reading and learning  to find foods that  are gluten free and to find substitutes for those gluten-containing foods that you enjoy.

Here are a few pointers to having a gluten-free diet.
