Terisa Griffin performs her new album, ‘Revival of Soul,’ in Chicago

Terisa Griffin brought her sultry and powerful voice to the Dusable for her album release. She performed her album, Revival Of Soul in its entirety to a packed house who hung on to her every note. Griffin’s presence is captivating strong and alluring. She opened the set with “Save Me” and then  performed her single, “Tonight’s the Night.”

Griffin moved from Louisiana to Chicago 19 years ago to pursue her dream of being a singer and her Southern roots are evident. Her style is reminiscent of Aretha Franklin and her confidence lights up the stage. The audience was in the palm of her hand as she ran through all of her selections effortlessly. In the middle of the set, she did her rendition of “Distant Lover” by Marvin Gay and it was impeccable. It served as the perfect transition to the rest of her project. As her show unfolds, memories of performances where skill and charisma are necessary to engage your audience surface. Griffin’s performance is true to the name of her project. It truly is a Revival of Soul and it feels good.
