There’s an indescribable and contagious energy that lifestyle strategist, coach and spa owner Naya F. Powell exudes.  Perhaps it’s her passion for wholistic health and wellness coupled with her coaching skills that command attention. The Virginia Beach native, who is now a Georgia Peach, was raised in an entrepreneurial household, so it’s her business to be in business. She is the founder of the Utopian Brand, one big business that offers multiple services, including lifestyle coaching, a destination spa and a line of organic aromatherapy products.

The Clark Atlanta University graduate believes in lifelong learning. “It is essential for growth, exploration of self and the world. What is not growing is dying,” she shares with rolling out.

“Seeing people live their most passionate life with intent and encouraging them to reach their highest level of potential,” keeps her inspired to work. Here, she walks us through her career choice, daily inspirations and why compassion is important to future business leaders

What is the Utopian Brand?

We are a three-part holistic lifestyle company that promotes wellness — mind, spirit and body. Spa Utopia is our exclusive destination spa where we offer on-site spa services. We create a little piece of paradise and customized relaxation for our clients that’s delivered straight to them. They experience, bliss, relaxation and rejuvenation that engages all five senses with Utopian Body, our aromatherapy products. Utopia Living is my lifestyle consulting and executive coaching side of the business where I create a space for my clients to dream big and support them in making their dreams a reality.

How did you determine your career path?

It determined me. I am a product of my experiences and the influences of my parents. Being the daughter of two entrepreneurial parents, I was surrounded by the influences of health, beauty, ambition, and hard work my whole life. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I went to college. I did know that I love business. I wasn’t a fan of the corporate grind, although it taught me a tremendous amount. When I learned about the spa industry, bells and whistles went off. There was an awakening in my spirit! It was love at first sight. My brand has just continued to evolve with my vision.

Describe the skill sets that are essential to future business leader and innovators?

Skills like compassion, integrity, creativity, vision and the ability to recognize the gifts and talents of others and surrounding yourself with a great time while inspiring others. I’m a firm believer in strategic planning. Set daily, weekly and monthly goals while simultaneously seeking God’s perfect will and divine timing for your life.

Define your personal culture.

Culture is the essence of who we are. My personal culture is multilayered, it’s colorful, hip, globally inspired, urban, spiritual, socially & community conscious and artistic, yet very traditional in many ways.
