Lil Scrappy is definitely on the Grustle.
Lil Scrappy is back and determined to show you that he is all about the Grustle. The Grustle, Scrappy’s 2nd Studio album, comes just in time for his television debut on the highly anticipated reality show, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” For those who just need a confirmation, Grustle is a mix between ‘Grind’ and ‘Hustle’.
Lil Scrappy gets personal, first addressing the bloggers and online naysayers. Scrappy later goes into detail about situations in his life that we’ve only heard whispers about. Right from the jump you know this album’s content is different from a lot of popular southern music. Scrappy speaks from the perspective of someone who is still progressing through life and “tryna get this money.” Striving to make inspirational hood music, Scrappy kept his lyrical viewpoint realistic.
Lil Wayne appears on “Stand Up Like A Man” with a line that hits very close to home due to recent drama between Chris Brown and Drake, “ya’ll ** wanna throw bottles.” It’s obvious that the song was recorded before the incident, but I found it amusing.

Scrappy’s ‘Lame’s Gone Hate Me Now Freestyle’ which borrows Lil Wayne’s ‘Please don’t shoot me down’ has a catchy tune that I can definitely hear being added to the hood vocabulary, because everyone these days feels like they have haters.
Without giving away much more detail, a few of my favorite quotes from the album were, “50 saved my life” and “I got my momma blood in me so you know that ima fighter.” Fans will be able to see the dynamic of Lil Scrappy and Momma Dee’s relationship in the new reality series Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.
It’s refreshing to hear a hip-hop album that covers more than just throwing imaginary money away to women, cars, and drugs. Scrappy speaks from a familiar place for many of us.
