The Greater Atlanta McDonald’s Operators Association presents The Gift™ Youth Singing Competition 2013, a multi-week competition to find and showcase solo musical artists and groups between the ages of 9-15 from all over greater Atlanta. They have the chance to win more than $20,000 in cash and prizes. Auditions will be held at various McDonald’s restaurants April 13, 20 and 27.
“The Gift, now in its 7th year, is a mainstay in the community for our youth,” says Carrie Salone, The Gift chairperson and McDonald’s owner-operator “And the Atlanta area McDonald’s owners remain committed to inspiring their dreams through education and life skills training, jobs, scholarships and community service.”
The Gift competition is designed to expose youth to successful career opportunities in music, performing arts, marketing and related fields through education, technical tools and life skills assistance.
Interested participants can now visit any greater Atlanta area McDonald’s restaurant to pick up entry forms for a chance to enter The Gift competition and visit www.TheGiftATL.com for more detailed information.
Open call auditions will be held on the following dates at these restaurant locations: Saturday, April 13, 2013, at McDonald’s located at 370 S. Deshon Rd., Stone Mountain, Ga.; Saturday, April 20, 2013, at McDonald’s located at 5192 Jonesboro Rd., Lake City, Ga. 30260; Saturday, April 27, 2013, at McDonald’s located at 5710 Fulton Industrial Blvd., Atlanta, Ga. 30336.
The first-place winner at the final competition June 2, 2013, at The Rialto Center for the Arts, will receive a prize package including a $2,500 education fund and $5,000 in cash. Other prizes include a demo CD, vocal lessons with a trained vocal coach, appearances on local radio stations and more. Second-place and third-place winners will also win cash and prizes.
