Verizon Wireless hosted a private dinner at the famous Dooky Chase’s Restaurant with Lance Gross and Regina Hall during the Essence Festival.  Cameka Crawford, the multicultural communications and community relations manager for Verizon Wireless, talked about the company’s mission to help decrease domestic violence.

“We know the technology can bring on change, one of the concerns that Verizon Wireless is very passionate about is domestic violence. When we think of domestic violence we automatically think of adults but it affects children as well. 72% of 8th/9th graders are dating, so that within itself is scary but more scary than that is 1.5 million high school students in the US will experience physical violence at the hands of a relationship. So that is why it is important to talk to our young people and teach them about healthy relationships,” said Krista Bourne.
