TMZ.com is reporting they spoke with ‘Memphitz’ Wright on August 24th and he said he was “completely shocked” when TSA agents discovered the gun in his bag. “I had my license and [the judge] did me right and let me out,” he told them.
He added, “The TSA did their job … I just hate that it was me because I’m about positivity and motivation.”

Toya Carter just tied the knot with Mickey “Memphitz” Wright a few weeks ago, and it looks like he may be heading down a similar path as her former husband, Lil Wayne, who has had his share of trouble with the law.
Wright was arrested Aug. 22 at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after his backpack went through the X-ray scanner and revealed that among its contents was a gun.
Although Wright has a license to carry a weapon, it is not legal to carry one on an airplane. He was arrested and taken to jail where he remains in custody.
According to TMZ.com’s report on this incident, Memphitz insists he forgot the gun was in there.
Toya has a hit BET reality show, owns a successful New Orleans boutique, and has a book on the New York Times best-seller list. The last thing she needs to be stressing about is her husband getting locked up.
You can’t even carry a tube of Bath & Body lotion on an airplane, Memphitz.
