Last month, folk singer Michelle Shocked performed at a San Francisco nightspot and began telling the audience to put a stop to same-sex marriage and support California’s controversial Proposition 8. She later claimed that she was only stating her observations of the state of LGBT rights and not expressing her real feelings.
