Beyoncé and Jay-Z attend Trayvon Martin rally with Sybrina Fulton, Al Sharpton
As previously reported, Trayvon Martin supporters were shocked to see two superstars attend a recent rally sparked by the National Action Network. Jay-Z, 43, and Beyoncé, 31, took to New York City’s 100-city vigil Saturday alongside Al Sharpton and Sybrina Fulton. According to Sharpton, the twosome declined to speak but wanted to share a message.
“Jay-Z and Beyoncé said they didn’t want to speak, and they didn’t come for a photo op,” said Sharpton. “Jay-Z told me, ‘I’m a father. Beyoncé is a mother.’ We all feel the pain and apprehension — the laws must protect everybody, or it doesn’t protect anybody.”
Beyoncé later took to social media to share a photo of wristbands that read, “I am Trayvon Martin” and posted a photo of herself and Jay-Z alongside the slain teen’s family.
