Beyoncé’s OUT magazine photos
For Beyoncé’s latest magazine cover, the chanteuse went topless and donned a Marilyn Monroe style wig. The superstar is currently covering OUT magazine’s Power issue and in it, she dishes on her Parkwood entertainment company and her last album that touched heavily on female empowerment and sexuality.
“Women should own their sexuality,” she told OUT‘s Editor-in-Chief Aaron Hincklin. “Men are free and women are not. That is crazy. The old lessons of submissiveness and fragility made us victims. Women are so much more than that.”
Additionally Bey reveals that her track “XO” which was heavily criticized for using audio from the Challenger shuttle disaster, was recorded while she was ill.
“When I recorded ‘XO’ I was sick with a bad sinus infection,” said Bey. I recorded it in a few minutes just as a demo and decided to keep the vocals.”
“I lived with most of the songs for a year and never rerecorded the demo vocals. I really loved the imperfections, so I kept the original demos. I spent the time I’d normally spend on backgrounds and vocal production on getting the music perfect,” she added.
In the spread, shot by Santiago & Mauricio and styled by Lysa Cooper, Beyoncé dons minimal makeup and plays the role of a business woman, a pinup girl and as herself, stripped down to the bare minimum.
