Chicago’s Alhambra Palace in the West Loop neighborhood played host to the opening night of the 9th annual Summer Breeze Jazz Concert Series powered by Eve Bridgeforth of Events By Eve.
This year’s kickoff event featured music by popular group Marqueal Jordan & The Players, DJ Douglas Johnson held down the ones and twos before, between, and after Jordan’s sets, and activist Erika Bracey of Different Shades of Pink was awarded the 2014 Community Spotlight award.
The Summer Breeze Jazz Concert Series draws music lovers from all over metropolitan Chicago during its usual eight-week run in the summer. In addition to jazz, the series features some of the best live neo soul, R&B, Latin and house music that the city has to offer. This year’s series runs through July 30.
