Opening night of the 7th annual Bronzeville Comedy Showcase

If you’re a stand up comedy aficionado in Chicago, there’s a gem of a comedy showcase in Bronzeville that you need to know about.

Presented by Vocalo 90.7, the Bronzeville Comedy Showcase is back for it’s seventh year. Hosted by comedian and host of Vocalo’s “Morning AMp,” Brian Babylon, who also serves as a panelist on the popular Chicago Public Media program “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!,” the Bronzeville Comedy Showcase is a weekly comedy event where comedians from all over the country come to try out new material on a receptive and willing comedy loving audience.

As Babylon tells us, the showcase continues to grow bigger and better with every year.

I have been doing this show for seven years now, and it’s always one of the best places to see comedy. We decided last year to move the show to a bigger venue to accommodate the large crowd that has made this the best summertime comedy showcase. The Blanc Gallery is a swanky art space with a large outdoor area that takes the comedy show to the next level. This is gearing up to be the best summer to date.

The free event is open to the public and held in the courtyard of the beautiful Blanc Gallery located at 4445 S. King Dr.

Shows are Wednesdays at 7 p.m. on the following dates:

July 30
August 13
August 27
