Score another one for legendary gospel artist Richard Smallwood.
The Grammy Award winning artist’s 15th album, Anthology Live, recently debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart.
The 2-CD project was recorded in front of a packed house at Upper Marlboro, Maryland’s Evangel Cathedral. It features Smallwood’s 20-person ensemble group, Vision, as well as Dottie Jones, and R&B star Angela Winbush.
“I’m elated that Anthology has entered on the number one spot on the Billboard Top Gospel Chart,” Smallwood said. “Personally, this project is the most important recording that I’ve done, so it adds more to the excitement that people are excited. I’m so appreciative of their support!”
His first album since 2011’s Promises, Smallwood goes on to say above all he hopes the album can serve as encouragement to anyone who hears it and may be in need of the Word.
“Along with my Vision family and guests who have been a major part of my history, it is our hope that people who listen will not only be encouraged and inspired to marvel and remember from where God has brought them, but to press victoriously through whatever obstacles they may encounter,” Smallwood says.
Anthology Live is available in stores now.
