Now Coleman and his husband are the parents of a daughter named Azaelia. The pregnancy forced Kayden to “come out of the closet” to friends and to the family of his now-husband, Elijah. Like any couple expecting a child, they prepared their apartment for the new baby and even got married. After the birth of Azaelia, like many new mothers, he suffered from post-partum depression and had to endure homophobic remarks when people found out he was transgender. Azaelia is now 22-months-old and is loved by her parents. “Our children will not be anymore confused or bullied about my being trans than any other kid is about something like having a single parent,” says Coleman.
