After three consecutive days of bloodshed; the latest in Dallas where a gunman ambushed police officers during a peaceful protest of the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile — killing five officers and wounding seven — celebrities are pouring their hearts out on Twitter, pleading for change.
These Dallas shootings are horrific. Killing these officers is morally reprehensible and completely counterproductive to keeping us safe.

Being against cops killing is not equal to being for killing cops. We need peace in our streets.

Among the first to sound off on the shooting was R&B crooner John Legend, who called the shootings, which occurred on Thursday, July 7, “counterproductive.”
“These Dallas shootings are horrific. Killing these officers is morally reprehensible and completely counterproductive to keeping us safe,” he wrote, adding in another tweet, “Being against cops killing is not equal to being for killing cops. We need peace in our streets.”
Meanwhile, Gov. Greg Abbot sent thoughts and prayers to the families of the officers lost and the Dallas community as a whole.
