Naturi Naughton got candid in a recent interview about what we can expect this summer on “Power“.

With Season 5 set to premiere on Jul 1, fans are searching for any information that will satisfy their voracious appetites. Naturi Naughton, also known as Tasha St. Patrick, wife of businessman and lead character James St. Patrick, graciously shared with “Good Morning America” what fans have to look forward to this season.

“Expect for relationships to be torn apart. Expect drama between Tasha and Ghost,” Naughton opened up before the Essence’s Best in Black Beauty Awards.

The drama has been building between the pair since Season 1, but with this upcoming season picking up on the heels of their daughter Raina’s murder, all bets are off for any type of peace between the couple.

Naturi confirmed the emotional state of her character this season, telling The Shade Room: “Just expect a lot of drama, a lot of pain. My daughter’s dead. It’s about to be like next level drama and I think this season is our best season yet.”

The murder of Raina St. Patrick (Donshea Hopkins), shocked fans during Season 4. The better-liked St. Patrick twin, Raina was in the wrong place at the wrong time. As she tried to defend her brother Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), she was gunned down by a dirty cop he had become involved with.

All of Tariq’s rebellious behavior had precipitated his sister’s murder, and having reached his breaking point he murdered the dirty cop in retaliation.

Fans might expect Tariq to clean up his act and learn from his mistakes. However, Naughton made it clear that Tariq will still be “acting a hot mess” in Season 5, according to ABC News.

Based on the trailer, we can count on an alliance between Ghost (Omari Hardwick), Tommy (Joseph Sikora), and Kanan (50 Cent), as they gear up to take down Dre (Rotimi Akinosho) and all of his associates. Bloodshed is imminent, but the question remains, who will survive it?

The writers have made it clear no one is truly safe in this ‘big rich town’. After the Season 4 finale, the show’s creator Courtney A. Kemp said, “We are reaching the end of this journey, so the main characters are less safe than they have ever been before.”

When asked about the rumors that the show may soon be coming to an end, Naturi Naughton told “Good Morning America” that she’d be “sad” if the show ended.

“I love my job and I love my show, but at the same time we’ve had a great run so I’m blessed,” she concluded.
