Netflix and Strong Black Lead hosted a celebratory dinner in Atlanta this week in honor of the upcoming release of Netflix’s original film “Nappily Ever After.”

Actress Sanaa Lathan stars in the film, which is based on the 2001 best-selling novel by Trisha R. Thomas and touches on the realities Black women face on their respective hair journeys.

Celebrity hairstylist Larry Sims and Tahir J. Wright, founder of The Cut Life, hosted the evening’s festivities at Atlanta’s Yebo Beach Haus. The guest list was packed with reality stars, including Phaedra Parks from the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and Quad Webb-Lunceford from “Married to Medicine. Celebrity hairstylist and “Fashion Queens” co-host Derek J was also in the attendance.

“Nappily Ever After” will premiere globally on Netflix on Sept. 21. Whether you rock a perm, weave or natural style, there’s sure to be something that will speak to you and your own hair story.
