Rapper and reality TV star Bow Wow was jailed early Saturday morning after he and a woman were involved in a physical altercation in Atlanta’s Midtown neighborhood.
The producer and star of the hit reality show “Growing Up Hip Hop” was arrested when an unnamed woman told the Atlanta Police Department she had been assaulted by Bow Wow, 31, whose was born Shad Moss in Columbus, Ohio.
The police report does not indicate what initiated the fracas.
According to CBS News, the alleged domestic violence popped off at about 4:15 a.m. outside an apartment complex on 12th Street in Midtown.
The police report stated that Bow Wow, who lives in Atlanta, and his female companion appeared to have injured one another. Therefore, both parties were arrested and charged with battery and held in the Fulton County Jail.
Bow Wow rose to fame in the late 1990s after the Ohio native was discovered as a teenager by rap legend Snoop Dogg while performing onstage in Los Angeles. Snoop soon handed him off to fellow legend and So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri, who had a reputation with cultivating young talent like Kris Kross and Da Brat.
Bow Wow soon came out with the chart-topping single “Bow Wow (That’s My Name),” and he has also appeared in several TV shows and movies, including Roll Bounce, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Madea’s Big Happy Family and Johnson Family Vacation.
