“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband Peter Thomas was apprehended in South Beach on an out-of-state warrant.
Thomas was arrested on Friday, March 1, 2019, after he arrived at Miami International Airport from a trip to Jamaica. Thomas, who now calls Charlotte, North Carolina, home after leaving the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” show, is said to have had a warrant in Louisiana for allegedly writing fake checks, a felonious offense.
As of Saturday morning, Thomas has not posted bail, People magazine reports. His last social media post came from his hometown in Kingston, Jamaica. Before this arrest episode, news about Thomas centered around the reality star and businessman shooting a new reality show about his Bar One nightclub and restaurant in Charlotte. He once owned a Bar One near downtown Atlanta before divorcing Bailey.
Thomas appeared on “RHOA” for multiple seasons when he was married to the former supermodel. The two wed in 2010 and divorced in 2017 after being together for almost 10 years.
The reality star blindsided Thomas with the divorce filing in November 2016. “I couldn’t give up Cynthia Bailey to be Cynthia Bailey Thomas,” she told Us Weekly at the time. “I was in love with Peter, but I’m just not wife material. I will never be in a relationship again where it will take a lawyer for me to walk away. I will never marry again.”
Bailey flipped the script on the “never marry” proclamation after she met and fell in love with ESPN sports reporter Michael Hill.
“I still want love in my life. I don’t know if that love looks like a marriage, I don’t know if it looks like me living with him, him living with me. I don’t know what that looks like. I definitely want love in my life,” she told Us Weekly. “It’s not like I’m looking for marriage, but I’m open to it. It could just go either way for me.”
“I can confidently say that Mike and I will be getting married,” she said in January 2019 on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen.
