Susan Ross provided some history of the photo that she took of Betty Shabazz, Coretta Scott-King, and Myrlie Evers-Williams. Ross stated that it was taken near Auburn Avenue after 2 a.m.

Andrea King added: “In this photo, all three women shared the same grim loss of their husbands. All who witnessed the murders themselves or whose families watched it happen.”

King also pointed out that all three women were able to keep their glow even after experiencing such heavy losses. Mrs. King and her daughter Yolanda both shared a quote that they live by in their household and encourage others to follow, “real queens straighten each other’s crowns.”
