Milwaukee rapper Huey V shares how Ye inspired him to rap

Describe your style of music.

Trap nuance. I’m still telling stories from the gutter, but it’s a bit more of a science behind it. I describe it as rich pain and money galore.


What has been the most challenging moment of your career?

Leaving  Milwaukee, my family, the people who know me best and the people I can’t see unless I’m visiting burial sites make the process a bit more frustrating. I do this for them.


What is one thing you have learned about the music industry that surprised you?

Everything just isn’t what it seems.

What words do you have for those following their dreams?

If you don’t quit, you never have to start over. I was rapping for 10 years before I got to this point, and this finally feels like the beginning, don’t expect things to happen overnight. Success is a process, just be ready when that moment happens. But nothing is guaranteed or given to you. You got to put the work in my g.
