R&B great Monica got Twitter stirred up after sharing a photo of herself in the embrace of former boyfriend and long-incarcerated rapper C-Murder, presumably on prison grounds.
C-Murder, 51, the younger brother of music impresario Master P, was convicted in the murder of teenager Steve Thomas near New Orleans back in 2002 and has been in prison since. Monica has been C-Murder’s biggest advocate for securing his freedom along with his brother, rap mogul Master P. Even Kim Kardashian has taken up C-Murder’s cause, though the reality TV queen has not publicly spoken on the case recently.
Monica Denise Arnold, 42, and C-Murder, aka Corey Miller, had a brief romantic fling back in the late 1990s and have remained very close ever since.
The “Boy is Mine” singer remains defiant and even clapped back at fans more than a week ago when The Neighborhood Talk posted that she was going to visit C-Murder in prison.
Monica swung back with a sharp retort, saying, “Y’all not gone trigger me on a Sunday. Tune in to these CMT Awards tomorrow and stay out my MF business lol.”
Monica made her debut at the 2022 Country Music Awards, where she sang alongside Jimmie Allen and Little Big Town for their country collaboration “Pray.”
That hardly redirected fans’ attention. Monica’s supporters clashed on Twitter and IG about her unbroken loyalty to C-Murder and whether they believe their friendship is appropriate. Monica, however, has been divorced from former NBA player Shannon Brown since 2019 after a nine-year marriage.
