Shoe designer and influencer Angela Simmons has been hit with a default judgement of more than $48K after a New Jersey judge sided with her former landlord amid claims she moved from her penthouse after months of not paying the rent.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ last week, the “Growing Up Hip-Hop” star rented a penthouse at the swanky Pembroke at Fort Lee, where rents can go as high as $10K per month. Documents show that she began renting the penthouse in October 2019, but according to the landlord, she stopped paying rent on time in late 2020.

Simmons’ failure to pay rent in a timely manner, plus additional late fees, costs, and needed repairs to the property totaled a final bill of $48,704.40, which is the amount the judged ruled that Simmons must pay in full. The ruling was issued as a default judgement because Simmons failed to respond to the court summons regarding the matter.

Thus far, neither Simmons nor her reps have commented on the issue.
