Adidas has dropped Teyana Taylor for what some are alleging to be her trite Twitter beef with Rihanna just a few months ago. In February, sneaker fanatic Taylor, 22, debuted her first collaborative sneaker with adidas called the “Original Harlem Good Luck Charm,” which became the ” fastest selling shoe” in the history of adidas’ collabs, according to the “Google Me” singer.
Due to her success, the G.O.O.D music artist signed on to create another shoe which was due to hit stores on the year’s biggest shopping day, Black Friday.
When Black Friday came and went with no signs of Taylor’s latest creation, rumors began to swirl. Reportedly, Taylor was dropped due to her bad behavior on Twitter. Remember when Taylor posted a photo of Rihanna’s battered face after Rih’s hairstylist allegedly made fun of her singing on Instagram?
Taylor’s camp is denying the reasons behind her abruptly ended partnership, “Teyana has not been dropped, the sneaker is on hold, no other comments or statement is ready to be issued at this time.”
A senior VP at adidas released the following “unofficial” statement shortly thereafter:
“We have ended our relationship with Teyana Taylor and do not have any upcoming product launches with her. All I can say is that adidas partners with athletes and artists who blend well with our brand values. We evaluate our relationships with partners based on the values we hold at adidas and we don’t condone violence of any kind.”
Poor Teyana didn’t want to let it go, as she tweeted:
