As you’ve probably heard before, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. When you wake up, your body has been fasting for anywhere from 6 to 10 hours and your energy levels are low. Energy is necessary for your body to function at its peak. Therefore, eating breakfast takes your body out of survival mode, and into work mode. Essentially you are break-ing the fast.
Eating breakfast has been proven to improve concentration, increase your problem solving capabilities, enhance overall mental performance and even boosts your memory and mood. Eating breakfast also may curb your hunger later in the day, which makes it easier to avoid overeating.
