House of Rémy Martin continues season 5 of the Producers Series, where the next generation of aspiring music producers compete for an opportunity of a lifetime: a co-sign to create hip-hop’s newest hit along with Grammy winner Big Sean and chart-topping producer DJ Mustard. The eight-city tour kicked off in New York City, where St. James the Producer snagged the win in June.
The competition recently stopped in Detroit, and DJ Envy of the national morning radio show The Breakfast Club served the event’s host. Four Detroit finalists competed for a spot in the finale slated to take place in Los Angeles this fall. The tournament-style competition allowed each contestant to play their best beat as the crowd listened. Beats were then scored by a panel of judges, which included rapper and songwriter Earlly Mac, Big Sean’s manager Zeno Jones and producer Key Wane.
By the end of the Detroit competition, a clear winner emerged victorious: Detroit’s own Fasheez Fasho. He’ll now move on to the finals in L.A. Following the competition, DJ Mark Da Spot spun a live set as the after-party celebration began.
The event also featured another new star, the Rémy Martin 1738 ® Limited Edition Speaker Box, in collaboration with Live Nation, crafted to echo the spirit of the Rémy Martin Producers Series and the brand’s music campaign.
Detroit was the second stop on the Producer Series tour. Upcoming cities will also include Miami, Atlanta, Chicago and Houston before the winner is crowned in the Los Angeles finale.
