The final video of Nipsey Hussle’s celebrated and legendary life has finally been made available.

The “Higher” video shoot took place on the top of a rented-out parking deck in Nipsey’s hometown in Inglewood, California, a suburb that straddles the edge of Los Angeles and is mostly known nationally for housing the Great Western Forum where Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and others collected many of the L.A. Lakers’ NBA championships.

Nipsey filmed the video with Grammy and Oscar-winner John Legend and internationally-known rapper DJ Khaled. TMZ, which obtained the video, described the “Higher” video as an “an uplifting, almost spiritual experience.”

Tragically, in just a few days, Nipsey would be executed in the parking lot just outside his Marathon Clothing store at the corner of Crenshaw Blvd. and Slauson Ave. in the Hyde Park section of South L.A. Reputed gang member Eric Holder has been arrested and charged with Nipsey’s murder.

As you recall, Legend was one of the first people to speak up following Nipsey’s passing because he had just recorded the “beautiful” video with his friend.

Legend is sitting at his favorite place, the piano, while Nipsey – cloaked in a head-to-toe blue outfit – and Khaled rap enthusiastically to the song “Higher” that will appear on Khaled’s latest album Father of Asahd. All three men are sandwhiched between two classic luxury whips whose suspensions continually pop during the video.

“Higher” is scheduled to drop on Friday, May 17.

Khaled announced on Instagram that he got the blessings of the family of Nipsey to donate all of the proceeds from the video and song to Nipsey’s children, Emani and Kross Asghedom.
