NeNe Leakes has not been filming for the upcoming season of the Bravo reality show “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and speculation and innuendos are running wild.
Some blogs, such as LoveBScott, have speculated that Leakes is forced to sit out at least part of season 12 because she is being punished for harming one of the cameramen during the infamous “closet-gate” — where Leakes frantically and physically tried to keep Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams out of her closet and subsequently ripped the cameraman’s shirt. Also, according to Williams and Burruss, Leakes knocked the man’s tooth out and he had to get care at the hospital.
Newsweek pointed out Leakes’ seemingly detached attitude during the season 11 reunion show where she barely interacted with her fellow cast members, thus signaling that she no longer cares. Moreover, Leakes unfollowed most of her fellow stars on Instagram and, according to US Weekly, unfollowed the show’s producer Andy Cohen.
Furthermore, Leakes is allegedly enraged that her archenemy Kenya Moore was given her peach back, meaning that she was hired back as a full-time housewife. Fans recall that Moore was terminated during season 11 after she deliberately hid her courtship and Caribbean marriage to restaurateur Marc Daly.
None of this is true, Leakes assures fans, as she had her camp fire off a response to “Entertainment Tonight” that debunks the rumors.
“I can say with authority that there is absolutely no truth to this,” the rep stated to “ET,” according to Newsweek. The only reason why she’s not currently shooting is because she is still in active negotiations with her contract.”
Leakes also took to Twitter to swat away Cohen’s claim that Leakes unfollowed him.
“I was NEVER following @andy on Instagram,” she tweeted. “He wasn’t following me or any housewives! He knows this! In fact i texted him and asked, why did u say that on WWHL when we don’t follow each other! ALL FACTS! Now go ask him! I NEVER need to lie. For what?”
