After facing drug charges stemming from a raid on his Georgia home last year, Waka Flocka Flame was cleared of all charges after a Henry County grand jury ruled May 3 that there was insufficient evidence to justify taking the Atlanta rapper to trial.
According to mtv.com, Waka’s legal ordeal began on Dec. 16, 2010, when his Atlanta home was raided by local police after rumors surfaced that his home was being used to house a prostitution ring. Although Waka wasn’t at home at the time of the search, his mother-manager Deb Antney and fellow rapper Gucci Mane, who were there, were detained for a short time by police.
Following the raid, a warrant was issued for Waka’s arrest and the rapper turned himself in to the police on Jan. 3, 2011, and was booked on possession of marijuana and Hydrocodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of probation for driving on a suspended license.
A couple of days later, Waka posted a $31,950 bond and all charges except possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana measuring less than an ounce were dropped before his case went to the grand jury.
Obviously excited about the ruling, Waka tweeted his fans the good news, “All charges droped from when police ran N my house #GoDsGooD #squad,”
