The “R&B Divas” made their way back to television this week. To celebrate their season 2 premiere. It only made sense for the ladies to throw a party or two. While most may have thought that one party was enough, it seems as if the cast decided to part ways and celebrate with two separate hosts. Syleena Johnson, LaTocha Scott, and Angie Stone hosted a private VIP viewing party with famous friends like Bangladesh, Michael Jai White, Egypt Sherrod, LaTavia Roberson of Destiny’s Child, Meelah of 702, and Pastor Sabrina McKenzie. While the exclusive industry crowd waited for the show to start, guests dined and sipped from Atlanta’s Havana Nights menu.
Less than 2 miles away, Keke Wyatt and Nicci Gilbert, and her friends from her new late night show, “Divas and Cocktails,” brought out the entire city to party with them for free at the Museum Bar. Packed wasn’t even the word for the event. As guests shuffled around the main area where the show projected on the club’s main wall, VIP was packed to the brim with “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” stars Ariane and Erica Dixon, Lisa Wu (from “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 1).
“Kandi Factory” choreographer, Victor Jackson, singer Dondria, Wanda Smith, and even Deb Antney, mother of Waka Flocka Flame were there. After the show Nicci Gilbert and Nicole Garner presented their new show “Divas & Cocktails.” They conducted interviews with their cast members including Chanita Foster and Staci Jae.
The “R&B Divas” took over Atlanta’s industry party scene for the night. Many neutral friends, media, and business associates found themselves darting across the city in between commercials to spread themselves out evenly between the parties, which were both a major success on their own.
Take a look at who we spotted. Were you out on the scene last night? Who had the better party?
A special thanks to Vaughn Alvarez and Sheena Wilder and their teams for executing two amazing events.
