This isn’t a “punk” album.
A lot of fans and critics have made references to this being Kanye’s “punk rock” album. Music snobbery aside, nothing on this album sounds like punk. It’s more Kanye’s industrial album; sonically there are Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor-esque touches. This album is more Depeche Mode than Dead Kennedys.
