A carjacking has claimed the lives of two young siblings this past weekend in Philadelphia. The kids were with their mother selling fruit Friday morning to raise money for their church when their lives were taken. Two black males carjacked a woman’s Toyota 4Runner SUV by forcing her into the backseat and then speeding off.
About a mile away, the car ran through an intersection and struck the victims. Witnesses describe chaos as bodies laid in the street. The two children killed were ages 7 and 10. Compounding the tragedy is the fact that their mother and 15-year-old sister were also critically injured. In addition. a 65-year-old woman who was helping the family sell fruit for the church was also injured. The car crashed into some nearby trees and the two men escaped on foot. Police and city officials are heartbroken and outraged by this tragedy. Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey stated to media “There are no words to describe how I feel right now … but we do need to find these two guys.”
Already, more than $100,000 in reward money is being offered to catch the men responsible for this crime.
