Plans for a memorial service honoring the life of recording artist and community activist Nipsey Hussle have been announced.
The service will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The huge sports and concert venue, with a 21,000 capacity, was chosen by the late rapper’s family for his service, which will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
TMZ reports that tickets will be sold through a website for the service.
Nipsey, 33, and two other men were shot outside his clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31. It is believed the three men were rushed to a hospital, but Nipsey tragically died.

Since Nipsey’s tragic passing, tributes have flooded in for the Grammy-nominated rapper.
Drake wrote on Instagram: “My whole energy is just at a low right now hearing this. We just linked for the first time in years and said we were gonna do a new song this summer cause it had been too long.
“You were having the best run and I was so happy watching from distance fam nobody ever talks down on your name you were a real one to your people and to the rest of us. I’m only doing this here cause I want the world to know I saw you as a man of respect and a don. Rest easy my g.”
While Rihanna shared in her own message: “This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this! Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! … I’m so sorry this happened to you @nipseyhussle (sic)”
And in a video posted to Instagram, Snoop Dogg paid tribute to Nipsey’s family.
He said: “It’s f—ed up, man. I just want to send prayers out to Nipsey Hussle’s family and Lauren London and her family. It’s f—ed up, man. This is f—ed up. Prayers out to the whole family, man. This s—- got to stop, man.”
Nipsey is survived by his partner Lauren London and their 2-year-old son Kross as well as his daughter Emani, from a previous relationship.
