Future does more than talk a good game.
In partnership with Greenberg Traurig, the Grammy Award-winning recording artist, along with his mother Stephanie Jester, sister Tia Wilburn-Anderson and his family’s FreeWishes Foundation, donated 500 tickets to students to attend the Atlanta Hawks vs. Philadelphia 76ers matchup on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at State Farm Arena.
The players on the Freebandz Elite AAU seventh- and eighth-grade teams, coaches,
administrators and select students from the Governor’s List of Distinguished
Schools, including Charles R. Drew Charter School and Elite Scholars Academy,
sported customized Atlanta Hawks + Freebandz Apparel.
“It’s super-exciting for these students to know that the Grammy Award-winning
artist Future was able to surprise so many kids with tickets to attend the Atlanta
Hawks game during spring break,” said Jester, co-founder and president of FreeWishes Foundation. “There are many students who don’t have the
resources to take a vacation. Because he is blessed, Future was able to be a blessing and give the students tickets. I want to thank the community for their continued support. We’re looking forward to more exciting events this year.”
For many of the students, it was their first time ever attending a professional
basketball game.
