Popeyes is all out of chicken sandwiches.
What in the name of hot sauce is going on here?
On the official Twitter site for Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, top executives announced Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, that they are all out of the new chicken sandwiches that ignited a nationwide craze. The sandwiches created a demand that saw long lines wrapped around the building at many of their stores.
Popeyes simply could not keep up with the demand, and now they are completely out.
“Y’all. We love that you love The Sandwich. Unfortunately, we’re sold out (for now),” the site said.

But don’t cough up a chicken wing. The sandwich that had people lining up around the block is coming back soon, according to Popeyes. This time, Popeyes vows that when it returns, it will be for good.
The fact that it is coming back worries some social commentators and pundits.
Given that we gave #Popeyes $23 million in free media coverage, it's almost as if we are unpaid employees. Kinda like slavery.

In order to learn when the chicken sandwich returns, Popeyes said you can download their app and turn on push notifications.
As had been widely reported on social media accounts nationwide, the new Popeyes chicken sandwiches ignited a Twitter battle between Popeyes, Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s, with fans judging which chicken sandwich is the best.
Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s are probably privately laughing at Popeyes’ misfortunes. But publicly, social media members are laughing. Check out some of the responses below.
And then Chick-Fil-A come out and hit Popeye's like baaaaaack to back! pic.twitter.com/RHxx650xlZ

Who's registering people to vote in the #Popeyes lines today???

Could y'all please stop putting chicken in the same news cycle as voting? I would like to eat my @PopeyesChicken sandwich in peace. I am an educated black woman. I can enjoy chicken and still go to the polls. Don't give white folk a reason to laugh at us behind our backs.

This is when @ChickfilA tweets:
