Chance The Rapper, in collaboration with DuSable Museum, held a block party in honor of Juneteenth.
The block party was a celebration of Black culture, art and Juneteenth. Chance hosted a special viewing of his interdisciplinary work “The Highs & Lows” with Yanis Davy Guibingna, a 27 -year-old photographer from Gabon.
Thousands filled the campus of the museum to witness the artwork, patronize vendors and join in the celebration of everything Black. Rappers Vic Mensa and Katie Got Bandz were in attendance. It was a day filled with joy and love.
The DuSable Museum also leveraged this opportunity to present their rebrand. Formerly known as the DuSable Museum of African American History, it is now know as the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center.
Twitter was abuzz about the block party.
