What’s your process for selecting a song to play during your sets or at a gig?
My song selection process totally depends on the crowd. I believe a good DJ will read the crowd and play accordingly.
How do you create the perfect music experience?
Anytime I’m DJing it’s a musical treat. You’ll never hear the same mix twice with me ’cause I freestyle the mix.
What are two of your favorite albums to listen to when you’re not in the booth?
Two of my favorite albums when I’m not DJing would probably be OutKast’s “Aquemini” and Tupac’s “All Eyes on Me.”
What three skill sets do you feel are critical for any professional DJ?
The three skills that I think are fundamental to be a professional DJ are mixing, blending, transitions and to say it again … being able to read a crowd.
In what location are you currently spinning?
I’m currently spinning at several establishments [at House of Blues Houston, Kamp Houston, and Prospect Park Galleria]. Each one is different from the next. I play everything from hip-hop, trap, reggae, R&B, Latin, and pop music.
What makes the experience at this establishment special?
DJing in a major city such as Houston means I get to DJ for all types of people [like] athletes, rappers and actors.
What songs would you recommend for the following special occasions?
1. Exercising: I’m either listening to Lil Wayne or EDM music. Something hype or with a high bpm to get that heart rate goin’.
2. Reading: While reading I think classical music is best. It stimulates the brain.
3. Inspiration: Definitely gospel music.

Practice and research are important because …
Practice and research are important because you always want to be perfecting your craft and you got to stay up to date on the latest songs. Good DJs are also trendsetters so you got to stay on it. I love introducing people to new music and I love hitting people with a song that they may have forgotten and gives that feeling of nostalgia.
